More people are now coming to the Good Shepherd and the Electoral Roll is now 104. More people of course means more work, and so if you are able to help us in cleaning the church, helping with our Sunday School, the church grounds, the Summer and Winter Fairs, weekly flowers, catering for our many social events, joining our choir, those who read and lead prayers, youngsters or adults wishing to train as servers, please contact Father Simon on 0208 570 4035. On account of the westward expansion of the Hounslow Borough with the building of Beavers Farm estate in the early 1950s, it became necessary for the London Diocese to cater for its spiritual and social life by building a new church. Due to
the decision of the Diocese not to rebuild the bombed church of St John
of Wapping, the War Damage payment of £10,000 was ported to the new site
for the Good Shepherd. The Foundation Stone was laid by Lady Laura Easthaugh on 17th November 1956. The building was dedicated by the Rt Rev C. Easthaugh MC, MA, Bishop of Kensington, on 1st February 1958. The stained glass windows were dedicated by Rev J B M Fox, Hon. CF, on 28th November 1959.
